On Heating is Pierson Heating under a new name. Same team, same standards, same Gas Safe registration, and the 250+ five-star reviews behind us were earned before the sign on the van changed.
Meet the founder
I’ve spent more than 25 years working as a Gas Safe registered engineer, serving homes across Brighton & Hove. The business traded as Pierson Heating for most of that time before rebranding as On Heating.
The name has changed, but the principles behind the business haven’t. At On Heating, we believe in a straightforward approach: turn up when we say we will, do the work properly, communicate clearly and treat your home with the same care and respect we would expect in our own.
Customer care and looking after your property are just as important to us as the work itself. We take pride in working cleanly, protecting your home while we’re there and leaving everything as we found it.
That attention to our customers, combined with consistently high standards of workmanship, is how we’ve built such a strong local reputation over the years. It’s something I’m extremely proud of and something On Heating will always be built around.
How we work
A heating job is only urgent to the person without heating. We answer the phone ourselves and we tell you a time we can actually keep.
Costs are explained before we start, not written on an invoice afterwards. If we find something we did not expect, you hear about it before we do the work.
Dust sheets go down, old parts leave with us and the floor gets swept. It is your home for the other 364 days of the year.
If a repair will see you through another winter, we will say so rather than quoting you for a new boiler. That is why most of our work comes from people we have already worked for.
You will get Lee or one of our engineers, not a call centre reading from a script.

Anybody can put a logo on a website. These are the ones with a register behind them, so you do not have to take our word for any of it.
I needed a new boiler and central heating system. After getting a couple of quotes, I chose Lee from Pierson Heating. He took the time to explain the different options and helped me choose what would work best for my home. The installation of the new combi boiler, radiators, and pipework was done exactly as I wanted. I’ve already recommended him to friends and family.
I have used On Heating for several years mainly for servicing and breakdowns. They have proved to be very reliable and I would not hesitate to recommend their services. Most recently I have had a new Vaillant boiler installed by them. The price was competitive, especially if one takes into account the 10-year manufacturer's warranty, that is only issued when approved installers carry out the work using manufacturer's specified parts. Lee carried out the work with minimum disruption and no mess and all waste removed. An excellent job all round.
This Companies workmanship when installing our new boiler and radiators was out of this world. Lee and Pete were always on time, exceptionaly tidy and really courtious. It was a pleasure having them work here as we have never had the carpet everywhere hoovered after a days work. Pete is an amazing engineer and Lee came after the work was finished to explain everything we needed to know after the install including the Hive which connects to your phone so you can work the heat in the house when you are out. If you want the best Lee and Pete offer exceptional service. Best service ever.
Saved the day! Our tap suddenly stopped working and water continued to fall out of the tap. It was broken on the inside and we panicked. Lee came to our rescue and after stopping the water he waited until we got a resolution from the supplier so it can be fixed. He was both professional and kind.
Lee is the nicest tradesperson we used whilst living in Brighton. He fitted a new boiler for us about 8 years ago and serviced it every year since as well as doing gas safety checks and servicing a gas fire. Lovely person and great at what he does and we would highly recommend him. We have sadly moved from Brighton but will recommend him to our buyers. Thanks so much Lee!

After a very bad dishonest experience with a 24 hr. Call out service guy who was trying to scam me the previous day, got in touch with Lee and what a contrast! The previous day I was told that I will need a new boiler but Lee found that all it needs is a replacement valve and nothing else was wrong with the boiler and he got it working in no time. I am pleased that I have now found a honest and efficient plumber and will be using him again for all plumbing problems.
I contacted Pierson Heating as my central heating system was overdue for its annual service. Lee did the service quickly and efficiently. He also answered a couple of questions I had about maintaining the system during the year. I'll be happy to book him again for next year's service.
