Brighton & Hove has a lot of period housing stock, and listed buildings bring their own constraints around what can and can’t be altered. With 25 years’ experience in the area, we’re familiar with working within those constraints, fitting radiators that suit the property without compromising its character.

Types of radiators

Flat panel
The modern take on the standard radiator. Flat faces, low profile, most colours.
Vertical column
Full height instead of full width. Useful where the wall space is tall and narrow.
Designer and colour
Same heat output, chosen to be seen. Almost any RAL colour is available to order.
Traditional column
For period rooms and listed buildings, where a modern panel would look wrong.

He calculated what I needed in terms of the volume to be heated and sent a reasonable quote through very quickly. He also suggested suppliers which I actually ended up choosing, saving myself a good deal of money. This Companies workmanship when installing our new boiler and radiators was out of this world. Lee and Pete were always on time, exceptionaly tidy and really courtious. It was a pleasure having them work here as we have never had the carpet everywhere hoovered after a days work. Pete is an amazing engineer and Lee came after the work was finished to explain everything we needed to know after the install including the Hive which connects to your phone so you can work the heat in the house when you are out. Lee and Steve did an absolutely excellent job that exceeded our expectations. We found them both to be very straight-forward and respectful. Replacing our ancient boiler on the second floor of a period building was a big job but Lee and Steve approached the works with a positive, can do attitude and worked efficiently and quickly. Lee is a first class heating engineer and really knows his stuff. He installed a gas boiler about 10 years ago and has serviced it and my 2 gas fires annually. He also recently disconnected then re-fitted a radiator to enable repairs to the wall. He made some adjustments to boost up heating to the living room and this made a huge improvement. Lee is friendly, polite and very considerate. He is reliable, punctual and very thorough in his work. I stongly recommend him for all work on gas boilers, radiators and gas fires.

How do you decide where to position a radiator?

We measure the room, assess its shape, and identify any draughts before deciding where a radiator should go. That means it’s sited to heat the room effectively and efficiently, rather than just replacing what was there before.

Can you work on listed or period properties?

Yes. We have genuine experience working within the constraints of listed buildings, which is common across Brighton & Hove’s period housing stock.

What are TRVs and do I need them?

Thermostatic radiator valves let you control the temperature of individual radiators, room by room, rather than heating the whole property to one setting. They’re a common upgrade and worth discussing when a radiator is fitted or replaced.

Can radiators be installed alongside a boiler replacement?

Yes, radiator work can be carried out as part of a wider boiler replacement project. Get in touch and we can talk through what’s needed.
