Using this website means accepting these terms
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. We may change these terms from time to time, and the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. The version in force is the one published here when you use the site.
How you may and may not use it
You may read, print and share pages of this site freely. You must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, the server it runs on, or anything connected to it;
- deliberately overload the site, or introduce anything malicious;
- collect information from the site by automated means for a commercial purpose without our permission;
- send unlawful, abusive, threatening or deliberately false content through the forms on this site; or
- impersonate anybody else when contacting us.
The content belongs to us
The text, photography, design, branding and code on this website belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us, and are protected by copyright. You may not copy or reuse them for your own commercial purposes without our written permission. Manufacturer names, logos and accreditation marks shown on this site belong to those manufacturers.
Customer reviews quoted on this site were written by the customers themselves and are published as they were written, on the platforms named beside them.
The information here is general
The guidance on this site about boilers, heating and plumbing is general information, written to be useful to most people most of the time. It is not advice about your particular property, your system or your situation, and you should not treat it as a substitute for having somebody look at the job. We keep it as accurate and up to date as we reasonably can, but we cannot promise it is complete or current at every moment.
Availability
We provide this website as it is. We do not promise it will always be available or uninterrupted, and we may suspend, withdraw or change any part of it without notice. Maintenance happens.
Links to other websites
Where we link to another website, such as the Gas Safe Register or a review platform, we do so for information only. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or for what they do with your information once you are on them.
Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Any attempt to read these terms as doing so would be wrong.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss you suffer through relying on the general information on this website, or arising from the site being unavailable. This paragraph is about the website. It does not limit our responsibility for work we carry out for you, which is dealt with below.
Work we carry out for you
Using this website does not create a contract for any work. A contract is formed when you accept a quote or otherwise agree with us that we will carry out a job. The terms of that job, including the price, what is included, and when payment is due, are the ones we agree with you at the time.
Some things apply whatever is agreed, because the law says so.
Reasonable care and skill
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, any service we supply to you as a consumer must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. That cannot be excluded or reduced by anything we write, and we would not want to. If work falls short, you are entitled to have it put right, and if that is not possible or is not done within a reasonable time, to a reduction in price.
Your right to cancel
Where you agree a job with us without meeting us face to face, for example over the phone, by email, or by accepting a quote we sent you, you generally have fourteen days from the day the contract is made to cancel it, and you do not have to give a reason. To cancel, tell us by email at [email protected] or by phone on 01273 110667. Telling us in any clear way is enough.
Two things are worth knowing about that right:
- If you ask us to start work inside those fourteen days, and we do, you can still cancel, but you pay for what has already been supplied up to that point.
- If you ask us to start inside the fourteen days and the job is finished inside them, the right to cancel is used up. We will tell you that before we start, not afterwards.
Our workmanship warranty
Pipework we install carries our own one year workmanship warranty. New boilers are covered separately by the manufacturer's own warranty, which is theirs rather than ours to set.
If something goes wrong
Tell us. Email [email protected] or call 01273 110667. We will acknowledge a complaint and tell you what we are doing about it. We would much rather hear about a problem than have you live with it.
Your information
What we do with information you give us through this site is set out in our Privacy Policy. What this site stores on your device is set out in our Cookie Policy. Those two documents govern your information and your device, not these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts there.
Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them continue to apply.
